About This Class
Improved Touring is a family of SCCA production car racing classes that allow a moderate level of modification to common, affordable street cars. Divided into sub-classes by performance potential (ITA, ITB, ITC, ITS, ITR), IT racing offers a natural home for drivers who want to race a car they can build in their own garage. The class strikes a balance between the strict parity of spec classes and the open development of higher-level production classes, making it popular with hands-on racers who enjoy both driving and wrenching.
